We are pleased to have acted as Egyptian legal counsel to Apex International Energy L.P. in its pending transaction, which involves the divestment of its Egyptian upstream oil and gas exploration and production operations to United Energy (MENA) Limited.
The transaction is contemplated to close after the satisfaction of certain conditions precedent.
The transaction was led by Mariam El Masry, Partner, with key support from Salma Talaat, Senior Associate. The team was privileged to have the invaluable support of Ms. Mona Zulficar.
Our Competition Law team led by Dr. Firas El Samad, with key support from Mohamed Fouda, Associate, assisted the Parties in obtaining the Egyptian Competition Authority’s approval, which is one of the very first ECA approvals of an oil and gas transaction under the new merger control regime in force since June 2024.
