Reem Abu Zahra

Reem Abu Zahra is a Counsel in the Firm’s Corporate and Capital Markets Departments. She specializes in providing advice with respect to corporate and commercial legal matters with a special focus on Capital Market Law and Egyptian Exchange (“EGX”) regulations with an extensive experience in initial public offerings (“IPOs”). She handles corporate matters especially corporate governance and compliance for closed as well as public companies listed on EGX. She regularly provides legal advice in relation to the establishment, licensing, and governance of investment funds. Ms. Abu Zahra represents clients and provides legal advice on investigations and inspections by the Financial Regulatory Authority (“FRA”) inducing insider trading cases.

In addition to the capital markets experience, Ms. Abu Zahra provides legal advice to investors in relation to corporate restructuring of Egyptian companies as well as foreign investors seeking to enter the Egyptian market on matters related to the Investment Law and other regulations governing the investments systems in Egypt. Additionally, she previously advised international banks in relation to sovereign bond issuances during 2020 and 2021.

Ms. Abu Zahra obtained her Master in Laws (LL.M) from Queen Mary University of London in 2018, and her Bachelor of Laws (“LLB) in 2014 from Cairo University. She also achieved a Master’s Degree (M.A.) in Comparative Politics from the American University in Cairo in 2012 and achieved her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from the American University in Cairo in 2006 specializing in Political Economy.

Ms. Abu Zahra’s working languages are English and Arabic.

Ms. Abu Zahra is a member the Egyptian Bar Association.
