Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab awarded the GAR Award for “Best Prepared and Most Responsive Arbitrator”

We are proud to announce that our very own Co-Founding Partner: Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Head of International Arbitration, Construction, and Energy Groups, has been awarded the GAR Award for “Best Prepared and Most Responsive Arbitrator”. The award was presented during the GAR Awards ceremony held on 26 March 2026 in Paris. Having recently served as President of CIArb, this achievement further reflects his exceptional leadership, significant contributions to the field, and unwavering dedication to excellence in the world of dispute resolution. This award alongside the various awards received by the Firm and Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab throughout the years, including, but not limited to, the 2017 GAR award to the Firm’s Arbitration Group as the Mediterranean/North African International Arbitration Practice that impressed, which was announced at the GAR ceremony held on 29 March 2017 in Milan, Italy, the 2018 Swiss Arbitration Association International Arbitration Advocacy Prize, the 2020 award for the Best Law Firm in the MENA Region by THE LAW, and the 2023 award for the Arbitration Firm of the Year by THE LAW cement and confirm the Firm’s track record and excellence in delivering top quality international arbitration services to its clients across the globe.

Needless to say that impact of this specific award extends beyond the Firm and Egypt, as it marks, to our knowledge, the first time an African and an Arab receives this prestigious award. This is truly an achievement that resonates far past one individual or one moment. It affirms, in the clearest terms, that excellence knows no geography, and it widens the horizon for outstanding practitioners from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and other regions to be seen, recognized, and celebrated on the global stage.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab and to each and every loyal and dedicated member of our Arbitration Group on this truly exceptional distinction. His accomplishment is a source of pride for the entire community, and a powerful reminder of what principled leadership, intellectual rigor, integrity and steadfast dedication can achieve. We are equally grateful for the example he sets, not only through his scholarship and professional contributions, but also through his humility, generosity of spirit, and unwavering commitment to mentoring and uplifting the next generation of talented practitioners. To many more successes, and to many more accomplishments in the years ahead.
